The wisdom of something

Life may not be beautiful, but it is interesting.
The law often permits what honor prohibits.
A hero is a man who is afraid to run away.
An ugly sight, a man who is afraid.
Every difficulty slurred over will be a ghost to disturb your repose later on.
Reason can wrestle and overthrow terror.
Many lick before they bite.
Have the courage to be ignorant of a great number of things, in order to avoid the calamity of being ignorant of everything.
Nothing shows a man's character more than what he laughs at.
It can never be bought or borrowed or sold: A gift to be cherished, true friendship is a treasure beyond compare.
I have a higher and grander standard of principle than Alexander the Great. He could not lie. I can, but I won t.
The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice.
I think when the full horror of being fifty hits you, you should stay home and have a good cry.
